Breastfeeding Class – In-Person and Virtual Options

Our classes are designed to provide you with the confidence you need to breastfeed your child. You will come away from this class feeling ready to breastfeed your child. If you are a first-time parent, breastfeeding for the first time or a partner to breastfeeding mother this class is for you. This class will cover breastfeeding basics, tackling breastfeeding hurdles and know-hows, Breast milk storage, pumping to feed, working and pumping, supply concerns, pumping to feed, selecting the right pump and so much more This class is 2 hours and is offered twice per month.

Birth Worker Laction class virtual session

Birth Worker Lactation Class – Virtual

This class is for the birth worker who is seeking to enhance the skills they have or seeking to gain evidence- based knowledge to support their clients. In this class you will take an in-depth look at the lactating anatomy, infant oral anatomy, common feeding issues, maternal complications, infant complications, and how to support your clients who are seeking to breastfeed or bottle feed. For those who are seeking to complete certification requirements towards their birth and postpartum doula certification this class meet the requirements. You will spend 3.5 in the course. This course is offered once monthly.

Childbirth Class

There are so many questions about pregnancy, birth and postpartum. What is natural childbirth? Should I take an epidural? What is delayed cord clamping? What positions are best for labor? Should I hire a doula? What is vitamin K? Should I circumcise my baby? All this questions and more will be addressed in this three-part evidence-based class. Pregnancy and birth is demanding on your body and mind, this class will help build your confidence and will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need during pregnancy and birth. With loads of information from so many sources, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. We’ll help you evaluate these resources to make safe and healthy choices that are best for you and your baby.

Our believe is that birth is a natural occurrence, and our goal is to increase your confidence in your ability to birth in the way you choose to. Parents will learn coping strategies for labor (natural and medicated), movement and positioning, best strategies to prepare your body to birth, how your partner can support you and postpartum readiness.

Support Groups

This is a place to gather, share ideas and concerns with others who are experiencing similar things. It’s meant to be transformative.

Sisters Supporting Sisters

This is a private group is for black pregnant and postpartum mothers. We are here to help you talk about what you are experiencing with other women like you in a safe space. You will connect with other mothers while being supported. You will learn useful tools and resources to help you move through stress, adjusting to the demands of parenting, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. We want to support you to live your best life. We meet 1st and 3rd Thursdays by zoom from 7pm to 8pm. Please sign up to gain entrance to the group.

Weekly Breastfeeding Support Group

This group is for parents who are feeding breastmilk to their baby. We provide continued support to you to help you meet your breastfeeding goals. So whether you are a first-time mother, mother-to-be, second- or third-time mother — this is the place to be. We meet by zoom every Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm.
